Two people were struck by lightning on Friday in Ménières, Switzerland, as they were on their way to rescue two other people who had been struck by lightning themselves minutes earlier.
A 51-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy were struck by lightning around 8.30am while they were working in a field, reports AFP.
They were rescued by paramedics and a helicopter, but during the operation the helicopter pilot and a police officer were also struck by lightning.
The man, in his 50s, suffered serious injuries in the incident, but there is no fear for the lives of the four victims.
“Fortunately, they were not injured and the paramedics were able to help them,” the local authorities said in a statement.
This event comes just days after a woman was seriously injured after being struck by lightning in the area.
