Stuck on Highway 20 at 180 km/h, he has to pay $1,555 –

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) caught a driver traveling at more than 180 km/h on Highway 20 east of Lévis on October 18.

The 25-year-old young man from Saint-Léonard-d’Aston in Center-du-Québec was traveling eastbound at kilometer 304 when he was detained by patrol officers at 2 a.m.

For driving at 183 km/h in a zone limited to 100 km/h, the driver was fined $1,555 and had 18 penalty points revoked. His driver’s license was also confiscated for a period of seven days.

A few hours earlier, two other twenty-somethings were punished for breaking the law in the same place, on the Henri-IV motorway heading south.

The first, 21 years old, must pay $1,255 for driving at 153 km/h in a 90 km/h limited zone. 14 points were deducted from the teenager’s Lévis driving license.

The second, a 29-year-old man from Quebec, was traveling at 143 km/h in the same area. He was fined $870 and lost an additional 10 demerit points. The driver’s licenses of the two men in their mid-twenties were confiscated for seven days.

At 120 km/h in the Robert Bourassa Tunnel

The next day, around noon, a 42-year-old man from Quebec was stopped while driving at 124 km/h in a 70 speed limit zone on the Robert-Bourassa highway near the Chemin des Quatre-Bourgeois.

For his escapades he has to pay a fine of $870 and will also have 14 demerit points deducted. His driver’s license was also confiscated for a week.

Crumpled sheet metal and drunkenness

On the night of Friday to Saturday, the SQ arrested a man from Honfleur, in Beauce, on Highway 20 in Lévis.

The 29-year-old suspect was involved in a traffic accident without injuries. When the police saw his condition, they made him take a breathalyzer test.

The results confirmed he was over the legal limit and he faces charges of driving under the influence. His driver’s license was revoked for 90 days.
