Student accused of killing two teachers at Swedish college

A teenage student is said to have killed two teachers at a high school in southern Sweden on Monday – then allegedly called the police and confessed to the gruesome attack.

The 18-year-old suspect is believed to have committed the murders around 5pm on the third floor of the Malmo Latin School in the city of Malmo, when students were gathered inside the building to work on a musical, according to police.

The male student was arrested after police found him near the two victims, who were women in their 50s, police said.

According to a report in Aftonbladet newspaper, the student was the one who called the authorities and allegedly admitted to killing two people.

He was armed with a knife and an ax when he was found, the report said.

Local police could not immediately confirm the newspaper’s report.

The student had no criminal record and it was unclear what led to the bloodshed.

“It is far too early to comment at the moment,” said Malmo Police Chief Petra Stenkula.
