Some abandoned cats suffer from rare and unexplained health problems. This kitten, left on her own at 7 weeks old, stopped growing. A woman who cared for the animal with determination helped save it from its dire health condition.

A kitten was found in a deplorable condition
It was the Best Friends Felines association based in Brisbane, Australia, that helped save the life of this little cat, found at 7 weeks old. Since she was admitted with her siblings, her vital prognosis was at risk as she was severely stunted. The association acted immediately to provide the animal with essential care and thus rescue it from this worrying situation.
Difficult support in the initial phase
Caring for the little cat was a major concern for the volunteer team. The young cat weighed half as much as the other members of her siblings. As a result, she was very weak and in a constant state of fatigue. The vets did everything they could to change the situation. The first few weeks at the animal shelter were difficult and not very positive.

A foster family to save the animal
A Brisbane resident was very sensitive to the little cat’s situation and contacted the association to offer to care for the animal. Nikki then committed to welcoming him and doing everything she could to help the little furball regain her strength. The new host family, home all day, was determined to make the most of the opportunities on their side.
A little love to heal Adele
A name was quickly found for the little cat: Adele, a homage to the singer, but also to the cat’s powerful voice.
Hour after hour, Nikki gave Adele her full attention to give her the care she needed. She gradually managed to calm the animal down by feeding and cuddling it regularly. Unsurprisingly, it was thanks to this tireless effort that Adele regained her confidence and gained weight. Little by little she developed into a thriving and healthy cat.

A mutual crush between Nikki and Adele
Nikki quickly developed a bond with Adele. As Nikki watched the little cat grow, she realized how much love she had for her.
Adele’s new mother also understood that she needed a companion in her life to succeed her cat, who had recently passed away at the age of 21. Adele’s long-term care was quickly considered to ensure the love and security of a home for the young cat.
Despite a difficult start in life, Adele is now a healthy cat, just as big and resilient as her brothers and sisters. The love Nikki brought probably had nothing to do with it and she can now thrive with her family.
