She added that you should also steer clear of faux leather, as it “smells really bad,” and advised customers to spend the extra money to get something that will last them for years

- Tracksuits: Made of cotton or cotton blend, spend less money
- Denim jacket: fit is ok, quality is similar if you spend more money
“I’m a stylist and I’m about to show you what to buy and what not to buy at discount stores like Target,” she said at the beginning of her video.
She then went on to explain what to avoid when shopping at the “big merchandising” stores.
“First comes the jeans, the fit is never that great [and] they look cheap,” said the stylist.
“Don’t buy high-pile sweaters, they pick easily after a wash or two.
“You can spend $50 and get a much better quality.”
She added that another “don’t buy” item on her list was “all made of faux leather.”

“Spend $50 more and get something that lasts two years.”
After advising customers to avoid jeans and sweaters at all costs, as the quality of the items doesn’t represent value for money, she shared what to reach for.
“One purchase is slip dresses or slip skirts,” she said, before explaining that those satin dresses or skirts are “polyester,” whether it’s $20 from discount stores or “$100 from Nordstrom.”

The stylist said customers should opt for tracksuits (left) from discount retailers. Another item of clothing that the stylist recommended you purchase was “Any type of denim jacket” (right).
“Another purchase is any stretch pants, these will mostly be cotton anyway,” she noted.
“The same goes for tracksuits, these are mostly made of cotton or a cotton blend. Spend less money on it.”
