Succession’s Matthew Macfadyen cozy up with his wife Keeley Hawes

They are not Tom and Shiv! Succession’s Matthew Macfadyen curls up with his wife Keeley Hawes in a rare public appearance at the Chelsea Flower Show… as his on-screen marriage continues to unravel

  • WARNING: Light Succession spoilers below

Star Successor Matthew Macfadyen made a rare public appearance at the Chelsea Flower Show on Monday alongside his actress wife Keeley Hawes.

The 48-year-old actor, who plays Tom Wambsgans in the hit black dramedy, dressed smartly for the outing alongside his 19-year-old wife Keeley, 47.

He wore a tan corduroy blazer with matching chinos and rocked a totally untypical look of designer stubble for the annual event.

The “Spooks” star, meanwhile, was dressed appropriately in a pretty floral dress paired with ballet flats, while her honeyed tresses were tossed in a sleek, bouncy blow dryer.

In the latest episode of Succession, which aired Sunday night in the US before it aired Monday night in the UK, Tom and his wife Shiv Roy, played by Sarah Snook, continued their acrimonious war of words.

The couple’s working friendship later blossomed into a romance and she divorced Callum in 2004 before marrying Matthew later that same year. They later had two children: daughter Maggie, 18, and son Ralph, 16.

When Matthew first announced his love to his wife, she revealed, “One day Matthew just came right out with it and said ‘I love you’ in the rain.” I was like, ‘Oh dear, here we go.’

While their off-screen appearances are sparse, the duo recently co-starred again when they appeared on Stonehouse, which aired in January 2023.

Speaking of working with her husband, Keeley told the Guardian, “Ultimately, he’s an actor I would have loved to have worked with anyway.” So yeah, it’s been a pleasure.

In 2010, Keeley affectionately said of their marriage, “I love being married to Matthew and I know Matthew loves being married too…”

“It connects everything and is a statement to each other and to the world.” “Marriage and motherhood are absolutely crucial to my happiness and my life.”
