Georgie wed her longtime partner Alex Merkel, affectionately known as ‘the German’ by the Koch family, in an outdoor ceremony in Regent’s Park, London.

Before the sunny wedding, Kochie and his wife Libby had spent two weeks in England getting to know Alex’s parents, Uwe and Gerlind.

The two families have not previously met in person due to the Covid pandemic.

Georgie, Kochie’s youngest child and the last to get married, looked radiant on her special day in a strapless white dress with a dainty necklace, pearl earrings and a tulle veil.

Her “something blue” was a pair of blue heels.

The Channel Seven presenter, 66, said: “Great to have the whole family together. Even though it was our fourth [family] Wedding of our youngest daughter Georgie, it was just as beautiful, fun and emotional as the other three.’

Kochie’s daughters Brie and Samantha were bridesmaids. The bridal party also included granddaughters Matilda and Lila as junior bridesmaids and two-year-old Ella as flower girl, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Georgie and Alex, who live in London, got engaged in September 2020.

Kochie, father of four and grandfather of six, announced last month that he was taking three weeks’ leave to attend his daughter’s wedding in the UK.

“We all share a house with him and his parents a week before the wedding and we never met them,” he said on air on June 23.

“It’s going to be either Father of the Bride or Nightmare on Elm Street,” he joked.
