Sunrise’s “man in Hollywood” Nelson Aspen is marrying his longtime partner Jonny after nine years together
Showbiz reporter and author Nelson Aspen has married his longtime partner Jonny in a low-key ceremony in New York.
The beloved former Sunrise show business correspondent, who lives in the US, announced the happy news on his Instagram Stories on Wednesday.
Nelson and Jonny, who have been together for 9 years, got married in a court ceremony.

The couple then partied with close friends at Robert de Niro’s upscale steakhouse Laconda Verde in Manhattan.
The famously quick-witted TV star described the wedding as a “courthouse” quickie — a nod to the HBO hit “Sex in the City.”
In a touching message on his Instagram page, the handsome journalist praised local laws that allow gay marriage.

“Thank God we live in a time and place where it’s possible,” he said.
He included a series of sweet wedding pictures in the stock.
One shows a delighted Nelson kissing his new husband on the cheek during the wedding breakfast.

Nelson announced his engagement to Jonny in October 2022 during a cabaret show in Perth.
Nelson had traveled to WA for the Perth Telethon raising $71 million for sick children and a series of live shows to promote his new book.
“We’re planning a Carrie Bradshaw-style ‘court quickie,'” Nelson said of his plans for the wedding he is expecting next year.

He told the Chron Australia he and Jonny, who works in finance, are considering buying a house in Perth.
Nelson has his sights set on the Elizabeth Quay development in particular.
It comes after Nelson pushed open the doors of his stunning New York City penthouse after spending the past two years building his dream home in the heart of Harlem.
Nelson, who resigned as Sunrise show business correspondent in July after 19 years on the air, started with a blank canvas with no walls, windows or wiring after purchasing the plan in 2020.
