The rumor has been circulating for some time, but now it's finally official: Nicholas Hoult will play Lex Luthor In Superman: Legacyand it was confirmed James Gunn personal.
Gunn, who along with Peter Safran working on the creation of the new DC Universe, today announced on its social profiles the involvement of the British actor, who had previously tried in vain to get the main role, which was finally awarded David Corenswet.
“I can finally tell you: Nicholas Hoult will be playing Lex Luthor in Superman: Legacy, and I couldn't be happier,” the filmmaker confirmed. – We had dinner together last night to celebrate and start creating a lex che It will be unlike anything you have seen beforeand therefore unforgettable.”
Gunn then explained that the news was only officially announced recently and that is why he has so far avoided sharing the rumors that were previously circulating: “We talked about it, but it was only a few years ago finalized.” Days ago, and I didn't want to bring you news that wasn't safe. Definitely cheers to Lex (and Nicholas!), one of my favorite characters in the DCU.”
In Superman: Legacy, Nicholas Hoult will share the screen with the aforementioned Corenswet and with Rachel Brosnahan, Who will play Lois Lane? Even together with them Nathan Fillion (Green Lantern), Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl) Ed Edi Gathegi (Mr Terrific). Aside from that, Skyler Gisondo it will be Jimmy Olsen and Maria Gabriela De Faria will be Angela Spica, also known as The Engineer.
The film is expected to be shown in cinemasJuly 11, 2025 and the date seems to be confirmed despite the recent upheavals in the world of cinema. Gunn wrote and directed the film himself.
