- Sheppard, 59, shared details of his brush with death in an Instagram post
Supernatural star Mark Sheppard has revealed he recently suffered six “severe” heart attacks and had to be resuscitated four times after collapsing in his kitchen.
The 59-year-old actor credited his wife Sarah Louise Fudge with saving his life and said he felt “humbled” by the near-death experience.
On Saturday, he posted a photo of himself lying in a hospital bed, looking completely disheveled with several heart monitors strapped to his chest.
“You won’t believe this!” the father of three told his 1.7 million Instagram followers in the post.

“I was on my way to an appointment yesterday when I collapsed in the kitchen.

“I wouldn’t be writing this without my wife, the @losangelesfiredepartment in Mullholland and the incredible staff @providencecalifornia St. Joseph’s.
“My chances of survival were practically nil.” I feel great. Humiliated once again. Home tomorrow! #spnfamily’

“Widow maker” is a slang term for the blockage of this artery – and it is one of the deadliest forms of cardiac arrest.
