“In Kiev today”: that’s what the President of the Council of the EU, Charles Michel, wrote on Twitter and published a photo in which he can be seen at a train station.
EU Council President Charles Michel paid a surprise visit to the Ukrainian capital Kiev. “In the heart of a free and democratic Europe,” he wrote on Twitter. The visit was not announced.
Michel, von der Leyen, Nehammer: politicians in Kiev
Just a week and a half ago, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, traveled to Kiev to reaffirm the European Union’s support for Ukraine in the fight against the Russian invasion. Shortly afterwards, Chancellor Karl Nehammer (ÖVP) also visited the Ukrainian capital.
