Survey: Majority of Canadians are worried about their financial future

According to a survey commissioned by Moneris in collaboration with Angus Reid, 62% of Canadians are worried about their financial future given the rising cost of living.

Despite the decline in inflation, 62% of Canadians are concerned, an increase of 3% compared to 2022 results.

Additionally, some Canadians say they are reducing their spending on restaurants rather than eliminating them entirely. This share increased by 4% to 38% this year.

There are still many abandoning the restaurant as the share has increased from 28% in 2022 to 52% in 2023

People are also looking for deals in stores, with 80% of respondents doing so, an increase of 5% compared to 2022.

56% of Canadians are cutting their entertainment budget, compared to 31% last year.
