Survivor star Parvati Shallow, 41, comes out as gay as she kisses comedian Mae Martin, 36, in sweet snaps: Us .

Parvati Shallow came out as gay and uploaded a sweet Instagram photo with her partner Mae Martin on Saturday to share the big news heading into the new year.

The 41-year-old “Survivor” star, who was previously married to fellow Survivor alum John Fincher, captioned the post, “We're here.” We're gay. Happy New Year.'

The TV personality held up a series of black and white pictures that both she and the 36-year-old comedian took in a photo booth.

The couple could be seen sitting comfortably next to each other and in one of the pictures, the couple was also kissing.

Social media users jumped to the comments section to share their excitement, like author Adam Grant, who wrote, “I'm so happy for you. “Bring on the new Black Widow Brigade,” a reference to the Survivor competition series .

Parvati is known as the $1 million winner on Survivor: Micronesia – Fans vs. Favorites and also competed on Survivor: Cook Islands and Survivor: Winners At War.

Her partner Mae Martin is not only known as a comedian, but also starred in the Netflix series “Feel Good”.

The Canadian-born star was nominated for a BAFTA TV Award for Best Female Comedy Performance for her role in the show. Martin appeared in other projects, such as HBO Max's The Flight Attendant.

Shallow was previously married to “Survivor: Samoa” star John Fincher. The couple began dating in 2014 and got engaged in January 2017.

Later in July of the same year, the two tied the knot. They welcomed their five-year-old daughter Ama in July 2018.

However, in August 2021, Parvati filed for divorce from Fincher after four years of marriage – citing “irreconcilable differences”.

Just days later, she also filed for a domestic violence restraining order against John.

At the time, she asked her ex not to “harass, assault, hit, threaten, attack (sexually or otherwise)” or “not have any contact with her, directly or indirectly.” [her] in some way,” according to Us Weekly.

The star also asked her ex to stay at least 100 meters away from her, her home, her vehicle and her workplace and to visit her daughter under supervision.

Parvati claimed Fincher “lunged” at her as they argued with her daughter less than a foot away. She also claimed he told her to kill herself.

During an argument that evening, Parvati claimed her daughter was “less than a foot away” before her ex “lunged at me, grabbed my arm, ripped the phone out of my hands and ran for the door.”

Shallow claimed that Fincher “got on my nerves” and was “verbally and physically aggressive” during the argument, which was reportedly not the first time.

She also claimed he told her to kill herself. “I don't care about you.” I hope you kill yourself. You can walk into traffic. You can jump off a cliff. “I hope you put a gun in your mouth and shoot your brains out,” she claims he said.

In Fincher's response, the reality star insisted he had “no physical contact” with Parvati that evening. He has also asked a judge to reject Parvati's request for protection.

In addition to proudly promoting her budding relationship with Mae, Parvati is also set to appear in the second season of Peacock's competition series titled The Traitors, which will air in January 2024.

As for what drew her to the series, Shallow recently told Parade, “I feel like I'm in a movie where I'm playing a character, but I'm being myself.”

“It blurs the lines between reality and theater, which is so fun because it’s like Knives Out, Murder Mystery and Clue, but a game.”
