Susan Lucci’s husband Helmut Huber died at the age of 84, as he announced on Wednesday morning.
The native Austrian died on Long Island in the US state of New York on Monday.
The couple have been married since 1969 and have two children together, Liza Huber, 47, and Andreas Huber, 34.
“He was an exceptional husband, father, grandfather and friend,” the soap opera star’s rep told People.

“Helmut’s passing is a great loss to all who knew and loved him. He was an exceptional husband, father, grandfather and friend,” Lucci’s publicist Jessica Sciacchitano said in a statement.
“The family kindly asks for privacy at this incredibly difficult time,” it said.
A family representative explained: “As a family man, he was a loyal friend and loved her dearly.
“With a roaring sense of humor, a larger than life personality, and a handy problem solver, he lived his life to the fullest. A former motorcycle racer in Austria, Mr. Huber was an elite skier and avid golfer and was a member of Garden City Golf Club and Westhampton Country Club.’

Huber is survived by Susan and his two sons and two daughters, as well as his brother, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He worked as manager of Lucci and CEO of Pine Valley Productions.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for contributions to the American Stroke Association to support stroke awareness and research, People claimed.
The couple met while working at the Garden City Hotel on Long Island, New York, when Susan was in her early 20s and fresh out of college.
“When I first saw Susie, it hit me,” he told People in 1999. “Today she walks into a room and I just light it.”

She turned 75 in December.
And she was spotted eating with her husband at her favorite restaurant the night before.
“It was the night before my birthday,” the siren wrote in her caption.

The star is best known for portraying Erica Kane on the ABC daytime drama All My Children throughout that show’s network from 1970 to 2011.
The show earned her an Emmy in May 1999; it was her 19th nomination.
After the show was canceled by ABC, the actress appeared on the comedy series Hot In Cleveland, playing herself.
She also starred in the ABC drama comedy series Devious Maids from 2013 to 2016.
