Julia Naspolini, daughter of Susana Naspolini, said goodbye today to her mother who died of cancer on Tuesday (25). The wake took place in the São João Batista Cemetery Church in Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro.
The TV Globo reporter’s daughter opened up about how her mother battled cancer. During her life, Susana has been diagnosed five times.
“It was often difficult for her, but despite all the difficulties that life brought for us, she was always with a smile on her face and wanted to help others. I’ve never seen anyone as generous as her, from the little things to the biggest. . She has always loved what she did. I wanted her to be remembered as a happy person despite the difficulties. She’s always fought to live and be with me,” she told Quem.
The teenager also said she was surprised by the public’s affection for the journalist. “I knew my mother was kind, but I didn’t have the dimension. I see all the honors one by one.”
She also spoke about her mother’s work at RJTV, a local newspaper in Rio de Janeiro, and how passionate Susana was about what she did on television.
“What my mother did to bill the city for RJ Móvel, she loved it. She loved the work and was homesick. She spoke to me daily when she saw the newspaper: ‘I miss being there with the residents and walking by Rio and collecting things. She would go to those places happy and come back even happier. The good she has done, the people she has been able to help with her work makes what she has done eternal. She’s kind of becoming forever,” he said.
burial
After the wake in Rio de Janeiro, the body of reporter Susana Naspolini was taken to her hometown of Criciúma (SC). The journalist died of cancer on Tuesday.
Susana’s body will be buried at 3 p.m. tomorrow. Samuel, the reporter’s brother, told Quem in an interview that the decision to hold the ceremony in Rio was made by Julia, Susana’s only child.
“My niece wanted to do something here because she understood that her mother had many friends, people who valued and followed her work and that it was very important to do the same in Rio de Janeiro,” he said.
According to Samuel, TV Globo helped with the ceremonies. He said his sister would like to be buried in the same cemetery as her father.
“Susana wanted to be buried in my father’s grave. And that was possible in two stages.”
The funeral service in Rio is public. The family urged the journalist’s fans not to film the coffin.
Susana had been hospitalized in São Paulo for more than a week. The journalist was diagnosed with metastatic cancer in the hip bone.
In September, she spent eight days in Rio de Janeiro because of an infection and weak immunity.
Last week, Julia also posted a video on her mother’s profile, explaining the situation, which doctors considered very serious.
“She had hip bone metastases that had spread to the bone marrow since July. So she came in with stronger chemotherapy that caused her to lose her hair. But the metastases spread to several other organs, including the liver. The liver is very compromised. [o médico] said they didn’t know what else to do, they didn’t know if there was anything left to do and that her condition was very serious. I don’t know what to do,” the teenager said at the time.
