The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is currently calling it a “suspicious death” and is not providing any information about the circumstances of the death.

According to our information, the victim is Gordy Jean-Paul, aka Young Dev. He was the brother of Rodney Jean-Paul, who was killed in the early 2000s at the end of a violent conflict between two Laval street gangs that has been ongoing ever since . Jean-Paul, 34, died on the spot in the evening from Monday to Tuesday. He was found in his vehicle.

According to our information from criminal and police circles, “Young Dev” is said to have been active in the drug trade, particularly in the Saint-Michel sector, in Montreal. The father of the family had lived in Terrebonne for several years.

Police considered Gordy Jean-Paul to be a member of a Laval street gang with blue loyalties. Authorities identify him as the instigator of a long-running conflict with two red-affiliated street gangs: the Flamed Head Boys (Laval-des-Rapides) and the 24 (Saint-François).

The victim had several firearms licenses. He was also sentenced to six years in prison in connection with an attempted murder at the Cabaret Doric in Longueuil in 2018.
