Swimmer drowns and another goes missing after a couple jump off the “Jaws” bridge in Martha’s Vineyard

A man was found dead and another is still missing after the couple jumped off the ‘Jaws’ bridge in Martha’s Vineyard.
The two swimmers got into trouble at the spot in Edgartown, Massachusetts, where the bridge made famous by Steven Spielberg’s 1975 summer blockbuster was the scene of the incident.
According to police, two young adult men jumped into the sea from the bridge between Edgartown and Oak Bluffs and did not return.
At around 9:30 a.m., search units recovered the body of one of the victims.
Navy units and dive teams continue to conduct search operations for the second victim, who have since shifted their search focus to the ocean side of the bridge.
Officials confirmed late Monday afternoon that the search for the second man has been suspended until tomorrow. At that time, State Police and Environmental Police will continue the search using side-scan sonar.

Local reports also claim that up to nine people may have jumped off the bridge on the night of the death.
However, all reports say only two men were missing and one has since been found dead.
