Switzerland: One dead and two injured found in Schaffhausen near the German border

This Saturday, Swiss police discovered three injured people in Schaffhausen, near the German border. One of them did not survive. The circumstances of the tragedy remain unclear for the time being.

Drama on the German border. This Saturday, September 30th, Swiss police found three injured people in the city center of Schaffhausen. One of the victims died on site.

The police are currently not providing any information about the weapon used, the type of injuries or the nationality of the people involved or their age. “We cannot provide any further information at the moment as the exact course of events is still being investigated,” explains the Schaffhausen cantonal police.

While searching for two injured people, the police discovered a third victim

In a press release, local police said they were informed shortly after 5 a.m. that two people had been injured. The emergency services found one seriously injured man and another slightly injured man on site.

“Despite the immediate resuscitation measures initiated by the police and the emergency service at Schaffhausen Hospital, the seriously injured person died on the spot,” the police said.

Shortly afterwards, the police discovered a third injured person near Schaffhausen train station who, according to initial findings, may be involved in the affair.

“He has been arrested,” police said in a second statement, without saying more. The facts and circumstances still need to be clarified. According to the police, the investigation promises to be “extensive and lengthy”.
