On Thursday, when the Gemini nominations were announced, we learned that Antoine Parent-Bédard, son of Sylvain Parent-Bédard and the inspiration for the About Antoine series, has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor: Comedy or Dramatic Comedy.
He meets experienced actresses and actors such as Patrick Hivon, Pierre Lebeau, Sonia Vachon and Danielle Proulx. Micheline Bernard, who plays her grandmother in the series, is also mentioned in the same category.
The father, Sylvain Parent-Bédard, was extremely proud of his son’s appointment. “I’m extremely happy, surprised. Antoine, throughout his life we always said no to him and we often said yes to him and that’s how it goes on,” he says with tears in his eyes.
“Our dear Antoine smiled, he looked up and returned to his world as always,” says the father, stroking his boy’s head.
“Podz has been telling us throughout the series, ‘He’s closing scenes in an extraordinary way when I’m not expecting it,'” he says.
