DAMASCUS, Aug 8 – Syrian Presidency adviser Bouzeina Shaaban reiterated her country’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people in their confrontation with the Israeli war machine seeking to erase their legitimate rights.
Tel Aviv is unleashing a war of extermination with the full backing of the United States, providing cover and impunity so Israeli authorities are not held accountable for their criminal actions, Shabaan said during a solidarity meeting with the Palestinians.
He asserted that the silence of countries claiming to defend human rights in the face of the crimes committed by the occupiers of Israel once again demonstrates hostility not only to Palestine but to every Arab nation.
Supporting Palestine means supporting ourselves, and we must be alert to constant Israeli plans to split ranks and disperse positions in order to weaken the Arab nation, he said.
The official assured that the massacres of the occupiers should not be overlooked and that Israel must be held accountable to the international community for its barbarism.
At least 33 Palestinians have died, including six children, and another 225 have been injured in shelling in Gaza, which has continued for the third straight day. (Text and photo: PL)
