Their company, Instant Distractions, is causing controversy in the Ford brothers' province. The two thieves offer more T-shirts bashing the Ontario transportation company, renamed Metrostinx, Premier Doug Ford and the giant Rogers.

When asked about the issue by Le Journal, Loblaw declined to comment on “instant distractions” that are causing a stir in English Canada.

“Thank you for bringing this to our attention, but we do not wish to comment,” said her spokeswoman Johanne Héroux.

The Ontario giant accounts for about 50% of the grocery sector in Canada. The variations are numerous: Provigo, Maxi, Pharmaprix, Loblaws, Shoppers Drug Mart, Real Canadian Superstore, No Frills, No Name, President's Choice, Joe Fresh, Zehrs and more.

Profit is $550 million every three months.

Galen the Turk's head

The company has been owned since 1953 by the Weston family, who are Canada's third-richest family with a net worth of $8 billion, according to Forbes. The current big boss, Galen Weston Jr., has been a Turk for many years in English Canada, where he is known for his chic Toronto lifestyle and his large yacht.

“Why People Hate Galen Weston” is the name of a popular subreddit on the ROC. “He is the face of a greedy company that has defrauded the public for decades through price fixing,” the forum says.

The Competition Office has been investigating Loblaw and others since January 2016 in connection with the bread price scandal. Canada Bread received a record $50 million fine in the case last June; Loblaw, in turn, admitted its involvement in price-fixing, which earned it immunity.

This issue always arouses the ire of the Republic of China. Ontario artists demonstrate this with their latest t-shirts for sale.

The billionaire tycoon, one of the richest children of the rich-turned-oligarchs in the country, also made people laugh in October 2022 when he decided to freeze the prices of 1,500 “Unnamed” brand products.

“After raising prices, I will freeze them. You're welcome, poor people,” said one user of X. “Galen Weston appeases the farmers,” we also read.
