Taco Bell is hiring currently chaotic celebrity Pete Davidson to apologize for their formerly chaotic breakfast self

Pete Davidson in new Taco Bell ad

Pete Davidson isn’t exactly known for his sincere remorse. He has acted in quite a few mediocre to bad movies. He missed a number of episodes of the show that gave him opportunities to star in those films. He branded Kim Kardashian’s name on his chest. However, he now accepts some responsibility for taking things too far – in a branded way, of course.

An unlikely source has apparently seen a kindred spirit in the man who once taught Ariana Grande either love, patience, or pain (did we ever find out what?) — and now together they’ve decided to step into a simpler, healthier era .

For once, this new partner isn’t an extremely famous and beautiful star (or Joe Pesci, for that matter). It’s Taco Bell, and they’ve decided to hire Davidson to help them embark on an AM apology tour.

“Sometimes we go too far. I did, and that’s why Taco Bell hired me to apologize for them,” Davidson says in the ad (while clad in a comfy gray sweatshirt that covers his ex-girlfriend’s tattoo). “Taco Bell went a little crazy with their breakfast,” he continues. “It was too much!”

Of course, this is a reference to previous Davidson-like offerings like the Naked Egg Taco or the late, great Waffle Taco. “We honestly over-innovated at breakfast,” Taco Bell chief brand officer Sean Tresvant said in an interview with CNN. “If you look at today’s consumer and the [fast food] Breakfast business, it’s about familiarity and it’s about comfort.”

Now you can really start your day off right with offerings like the Bell Breakfast Box, a 1040-1320 calorie option including a medium Baja Blast, breakfast crunch wrap and two cream-filled cinnamon donut holes, or a Grande Toasted Breakfast burrito which feels incredibly on-brand for the new speaker. Those pesky ex-boyfriends really follow him everywhere, huh?
