Target Customer Shares “Cat and Jack” Return Hack – The Daily Dot

A Target customer revealed a hack that allowed her to earn $400 by returning one-year-old Cat & Jack clothing.

The video featured TikTok user KM (@kbyee424) completing her first Cat & Jack return. Then she revealed a secret. “If you purchase Cat & Jack clothing products from Target, you can return them,” she shared with her 129,000 followers.

KM notes that the policy applies regardless of the condition of the clothing. The only condition is that the clothing must be returned within the year you purchased it. What would happen if you didn't have a receipt or a callback number when making a purchase? However, there was another way to find out. “If you look on the inside of your kids' clothes, there's a tiny little label and at the very end it says the year you bought it,” she revealed.

This then prompted the content creator to head to Target and bring back two bags full of Cat & Jack clothing. Everything was refunded, including the items she doubted would be accepted. The only thing they were looking for was the previously mentioned tag KM. As a result, the content creator received $400 back, which she planned to put on a Target gift card.

Additionally, KM recommended downloading the Target Circle app. “When you use the Circle app, a digital copy of every single receipt is saved,” she explained. She concluded the video by refusing to “keep” this information.

KM captioned the video: “My kids will be wearing Cat & Jack [until] further.”

The Daily Dot contacted KM via email and TikTok comment and Target via press email. The video received over 601,000 views. In the comments, viewers praised KM for sharing this hack.

“This broke mom is definitely going to try this, thanks!!” wrote one viewer.

“I'm so glad you made this video! A lot of people don't know about it and it can be an absolute lifesaver!” a second applauded.

In addition, others also shared how they did this.

“I do this about every 6 months! It's a real game-changer, especially for things like coats and shoes that you don't use for long!!” one user shared.

“Girl, I did this to my twins’ clothes!! It's amazing I saved so much lol,” a second commented.

“That includes boots! “I bought my daughter these sparkly gold boots that had all the glitter coming off and returned them,” said a third.

Target's website confirmed KM's statements. According to its website, the company offers a one-year warranty on Cat & Jack items and free returns with a receipt. To return items, including popular children's clothing, Target recommends: “Bring your item and the return barcode (from your packing slip, order detail page or receipt) to Guest Services. We can also look up receipts using your original payment method. Whatever you choose, a team member will be happy to assist you with your return.”
