“So here we are on the final night of the American leg of the Eras Tour, the eighth month of the year and the ninth day. Note that there are new outfits in the show…” she started, provoking the screams of the crowd.
“There’s something I’ve been planning for a very, very, very, very long and ridiculously awkward way. And I think instead of telling you about it, I’m going to show you something I can’t wait to show you,” she said as the screen revealed the album cover and its date. Release Date – October 27th.
She then performed “New Romantics,” the only song from 1989 she hadn’t performed in the surprise song category.
Taking to social media, the singer wrote: “Surprise!!! 1989 (Taylor’s version) is on its way to you. The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways and it is with great excitement that I announce that my version of the album will be released on October 27th. »
The news comes just over a month after Taylor released Speak Now (Taylor’s version). She has yet to re-record Reputation and her self-titled debut album.
