Taylor Swift announces the release of her 1989 hit album as the latest re-recording, “Taylor’s Version,” with five new tracks
Taylor Swift has announced that her next re-release will be her 2014 hit album 1989.
The superstar broke the news at her performance in Los Angeles on Thursday night, revealing that the re-recording will be released in October and will feature five new tracks.
Taylor revealed the album art on her Instagram page after the show and gushed that it’s “my FAVORITE re-recording I’ve ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane.” I can’t believe that they were ever left behind.’
The 2014 album, which originally contained 13 songs in the standard version and 16 songs in the deluxe edition, includes their hit singles Shake It Off and Blank Space, among others.

Taylor’s message sparked a buzz at SoFi Stadium in California as she teased:
“So here we are on the final night of the US leg of the Eras tour in month eight of the year, day nine,” before telling audiences that she’s “planned this for a long time.”
Taking to Instagram, Taylor gushed, “Surprise!! 1989 Taylor’s version is on its way to you. The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways and it fills me with great excitement to announce that my version of it will be released on October 27th.
The 1989 Taylor’s version has been rumored by fans for weeks, with the star dropping Easter eggs for Swifties during her current world tour.
Ahead of their LA performances, SoFi Stadium released four revealing photos with references to the 1989 album.
Taylor re-recorded her previous albums after a dispute with her old label, Big Machine Records.
So far she released Fearless (Taylor’s Version) Red (Taylor’s Version) before Speak Now last month.
In 2019, Taylor used her Tumblr to reveal that “thug” Scooter Braun — the manager of Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and many others — has taken over the label she was previously with – Big Machine Records.
Excitement: Taylor’s message caused a great deal of excitement at SoFi Stadium as she teased: “So here we are in the eighth month of the year, on the ninth day.”
His company Ithaca Holdings LLC bought Big Machine Label Group for an alleged $300 million.
The deal included the master recordings of all six of her albums – all of her music to date and her legacy.
In her Tumblr post, Taylor slammed Scooter as well as Big Machine Label Group CEO Scott Borchetta, revealing that she wasn’t offered the opportunity to buy her own masters and that the former had been bullying her for years.
There are now rumors that the busy star is also currently filming a documentary after fans discovered it a professional film team at their performances in LA.

According to TMZ, film crews have been actively following the musical artist, capturing her best angles as she performs to a sold-out audience, as well as capturing behind-the-scenes moments.
While there are plenty of high-profile entertainers with filmmakers in tow, Taylor’s sizable staff suggests she could be planning something significant.
Swift released the Netflix documentary Miss Americana back in 2020.
Taylor has packed her Eras shows with a staggering 45 tracks plus a selection of surprise songs, and fans are eagerly awaiting which tracks would make an unlikely performance each night.
