An Oklahoma couple who dressed up as Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce for a 2020 Halloween party has gone viral on social media. Users said the couple predicted the celebrity romance almost three years earlier.
Makayla Stephens told Fox News Digital that she initially created a TikTok video detailing her costume after seeing some costume ideas on her feed.
“I thought about it and realized we had already done it [the costume]said Stephens. “And my husband was sleeping, and I woke him up and said, ‘Baby, this is going to be a trend.’ And we’ve already done it. “We did it three years ago.”

After posting a three-minute video of her and her husband’s costumes, the post quickly went viral, garnering over 100,000 views and hundreds of comments.
“It was crazy,” Stephens added.
She said the idea for the Swift and Kelce couple costume came “totally by accident” after she was invited to a last-minute Halloween party at her in-laws’ house.

“It was actually completely random,” Stephens said. “We were invited to a last-minute family Halloween gathering and they told us we needed costumes.”

“We really just went through our closet. And my husband has always been a big Kansas City Chiefs fan and Taylor Swift had just released Folklore,” Stephens said. “I tried to figure out what other type of Taylor I could be and finally decided on Lover Era Taylor.”

The couple said that when they arrived at the 2020 Halloween party, no one was impressed with their costume.

“It was so funny because no one at the party was particularly impressed with their costumes. They really aren’t great. They were pretty terrible,” Stephens admitted with a laugh. “But now, three years later, it has become something we could never have imagined.”

Following the party on October 14, 2020, the couple posted photos of their costumes on Instagram. Nick wore Kelce’s No. 87 jersey and Makayla wore pink with a glittery heart around the eye — just like Swift did on the cover of her Lover album.
