Travis Kelce made a surprise cameo appearance on the Season 49 premiere episode of Saturday Night Live in a skit that poked fun at his very public romance with Taylor Swift.
The 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end caused an uproar in the audience when he suddenly appeared on the show hosted by SNL alum Pete Davidson, 29, following the end of the WGA strike late last month.
The humorous sketch began as the Fox NFL Sunday Pregame Show, with comedians Kenan Thompson, Mikey Day, James Austin Johnson, Molly Kearney and Devon Walker taking on the roles of hosts – and Davidson later appeared in the sketch as well.
The group was preparing for the Philadelphia Eagles game against the New York Jets. “It’s Week 7, and if any Taylor Swift fans are watching, the Chiefs game was on Thursday, you just missed them,” Thompson began.
The presenters laughed as Mikey’s character Howie Long said: “Listen, sorry Swifties, this is a show about football.” It’s a sport. “Ask your father.”

‘Good Good. Let’s get in the game and stop whining about Taylor and her little boyfriend,” Kenan added. But suddenly everyone else at the table let out a shocked gasp and muttered “Woah” in unison.
‘Friend?’ asked Mikey Day. “Wait a minute, no one said “boyfriend.” Let’s not jump to conclusions here.’
James – who played Jimmy Johnson – added: “Yeah, yeah.” They hang out. They take their time and I think that’s great.”
Kearney, who portrayed Terry Bradshaw, explained: “Jimmy, I really have to disagree.” “She’s in the luxury box, hanging out with Mama Kelsey, having cocktails with Deadpool, guys, it’s official,” referring to the game Chiefs vs. Jets, where Swift brought her best friends, including Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds.
