After landing at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Friday ahead of Sunday's Grammy Awards, the superstar's 71-year-old father declined to answer a question about his eldest child's love life.
When asked by a paparazzo if the father of two asked if the 35-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end needed to ask for his “permission” to propose, Scott quickly closed the door of his car.
However, just a few minutes earlier, he was happy to answer a few football-related questions, including whether he was a Kansas City Chiefs fan before Taylor started dating Kelce.

“I’m a football fan – of all teams,” the long-time Philadelphia Eagles fan replied shyly.
He further noted that Andy Reid, the team's current head coach, “used to coach the Eagles.”
Engagement rumors between Kelce and Taylor began circulating in December after Page Six reported that the football player had already asked Scott for permission to ask the 12-time Grammy winner to marry him.
A source close to Kelce told the website, “Scott was asked for his blessing and gave it wholeheartedly, and Travis has been talking to friends about a ring.”
Although it's still unclear whether the rumors are true, Kelce and Scott hit it off like a house on fire when they first met at Taylor's Eras show tour in Argentina.
During the Chiefs' bye week, Kelce flew to accompany his girlfriend on the South American leg of their sold-out world tour and was spotted in a VIP cabin next to Scott.
At one point, Taylor changed the lyrics to one of her songs to reference “Going Home” to “that guy from the Chiefs,” and both Kelce and Scott Swift responded adorably to the moment.
As Taylor left the stage, videos showed her running straight into her husband's arms, and their romance has been one-way ever since.

Last weekend, Swift was on the field with his parents Donna and Ed and older brother Jason as they celebrated the Chiefs winning the AFC Championship with a sensational performance against the Ravens – the favorites for many to beat the Chiefs and can win the Super Bowl.
Swift is expected to be in attendance at the game, but she begins touring again next week with four nights in Tokyo, Japan.
Her last night is Saturday, but the 17-hour time difference will serve her well as she returns to the West Coast of the United States.

While Kelce – a two-time Super Bowl champion – recently reflected on the hate and criticism from fans at the start of his relationship with Taylor, which began around last summer, he preferred to keep a simple view of love.
