Teachers in Venezuela mobilize in support of the revolution

The teachers presented Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez with a document confirming their commitment to ensure children’s education and commitment to be protagonists of the country’s rebirth.

They also expressed “demanding the sector’s direct attention” and calling for comprehensive entitlements that educational workers deserve, in addition to accompanying the “approaches and demands” as long as they remain within the framework of the constitution, they said.

In the past few days, teachers have been calling for a nationwide strike for better salaries on social networks, and in some federal states there have been protest marches at the beginning of the second lesson after the December holidays.

The Venezuelan people have just gone through difficult times, from “a cruel period of protest and social destabilization” to the economic blockade against the country, which has affected the economy and consequently the social protection system, the text says.

The President of the National Unitary Teachers’ Force Union, Orlando Pérez, addressed his colleagues and spoke about the benefits of the revolution since its birth, which he said established the human right to education and was a flag for Venezuelan teachers.

Recalling that tomorrow is Educators’ Day in Venezuela, he highlighted Maduro’s efforts to ensure that workers in this sector guarantee stability and social security.

Rodríguez, after receiving the document from the educators, stated that it would be handed over to the President, noting that he was keeping abreast of the teachers’ situation. The vice president conveyed to the teachers the deep appreciation of the head of state and expressed their ability to resist the economic warfare of the United States and its allies with dignity and wisdom.

He announced that in the next few hours “they will hear about new decisions from the President and that there will be announcements sooner than they can imagine,” he added, without giving further details.
