Ted Lasso fans will have to wait a little longer for the grand premiere of Season 3, which will take place this spring, Apple TV+ announced at TCA. Meanwhile, the streamer teases in a first-look photo (below) that shows the titular character (Jason Sudeikis) face-to-face with Nathan Shelley (Nick Mohammed), who still appears to have his feet on the dark side. In the back between them is another of Ted Lasso’s villains, Rupert (Anthony Head).
In the season two finale, Nathan unleashed all his pent-up disappointments and frustrations after telling the media about Ted’s panic attacks in a power play. He then left Richmond to coach West Ham for Rupert (Head). Ted doesn’t seem to hold grudges, but the duo may still have something in common to help overcome those resentments.

The spring date window premiere of Ted Lasso brings its third season into Emmy competition this year.
During Wednesday’s Shrinking panel, Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein spoke briefly to the media about Ted Lasso season 3 after two requests for comment.

“I’ve seen cuts of the show and I think they’re freaking awesome,” Lawrence said of the new season of Ted Lasso. Goldstein added, “I love it.”
Lawrence also tipped his hat to Sudeikis, who took over directing the acclaimed comedy this season, allowing the former to return to the US to focus on shrinking.
It is not yet known if the upcoming installment will be the series finale, although it has been teased by various cast members.
The series was developed for television by Sudeikis, Lawrence, Joe Kelly and Brendan Hunt. Sudeikis also serves as executive producer alongside Lawrence through his Doozer Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group. Doozer’s Jeff Ingold is also serving as executive producer with Lizakatzer as co-executive producer.
