Teenage Head guitarist Gord Lewis has been found dead, allegedly murdered by his own son

Canadian rock guitarist Gord Lewis was found dead at his home in Hamilton, Ontario on Sunday after allegedly being murdered by his own son.

The rocker’s 41-year-old son, Jonathan Lewis, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder while the Hamilton Police Department continues to investigate the case, according to local reports.

The co-founder of punk rock band Teenage Head was spotted by police officers over the weekend when officers described the incident as “isolated,” the Hamilton Spectator reported. He was 65.

At a news conference Monday, Hamilton Detective Sara Beck said police were not looking for any other suspects.

Beck said the victim sustained “foul play-related injuries.”

“We continue to search for witnesses and review video in the area,” she added.

Although “due to the extent of the decomposition, no definite identification of the deceased has been made,” police said they knew the identity of the deceased.

Gord’s death was confirmed by the band on Monday, who shared a touching post on Instagram as his bandmates paid tribute.

“We are heartbroken and still trying to process the loss of our friend, bandmate and brother Gord Lewis,” wrote surviving band members Steve Marshall, drummer Gene Champagne and Dave Desroches.

“Our hearts go out to his family and everyone who knew and loved him. Gord has been a force and an inspiration to many. You were taken from us way too soon.”

Lewis co-founded the punk rock band Teenage Head in 1975 along with founding singer/drummer Frankie Venom and vocalist Dave Desroches, and the band performed across the country before gaining worldwide fame.

Some of Teenage Head’s most famous songs are “Let’s Shake” and “Some Kinda Fun”.

The rocker’s death isn’t the first in the group, as Venom died in 2008 after losing his battle with throat cancer.
