Since sex before marriage is an absolute taboo, the girl kept her pregnancy a secret.
A 15-year-old has given birth to her baby alone in India after watching relevant videos on YouTube. She then strangled the girl so her neighbors wouldn’t hear her screams because she kept her pregnancy a secret, local television station NDTV and the Times of India, among others, reported on Monday, citing police. A little later, the weakened teenager would have told her mother about her birth.
Father’s name not fully known
She met the child’s father through social media, but did not know his full name or address. In India, sex before marriage is a big taboo, sex with minors is punishable – even in consensual relationships. Time and again there are unsafe abortions outside hospitals that are fatal to the mother-to-be.
