The release took place on Wednesday morning (3 p.m.) around 7 a.m. According to diarist Maria Ocilene Soares, the girl’s mother, the day before, Santa Casa medical staff requested that two family members come to the site to break the news. The wife and other son, the patient’s brother, were frustrated by the response as they awaited a diagnosis.

Also according to Maria Ocilene, the aforementioned doctor, whose name has not been released, reported that it was not possible to locate the cause of the bleeding at the site. “He said Santa Casa couldn’t find out about their problem. In a note, Santa Casa de Santos confirms the discharge of the patient on the date mentioned. The health department also reports that the young woman in question “has had bleeding from her ear, nose and mouth for three years, which was initially monitored by SUS [Serviço Único de Saúde] and later by healthcare providers”.

Also according to the content of the report, this is the second discharge after a hospital stay. This year, the young woman’s first visit to Santa Casa took place between May 20th and April 3rd.

“In both situations, all examinations were performed, including magnetic resonance imaging of the skull and face. The patient was also examined by specialists from neurology, otorhinolaryngology, pulmonology and general clinical service, and no lesion was found on the Bleeding site noted,” he adds, the hospital said in a note.

Santa Casa de Santos adds that since the patient is being followed up as an outpatient and does not need to stay in the hospital for diagnostic tests, she was discharged with all the examinations and specialty assessments carried out during the hospitalization to continue the followup. of the case.

According to the family, the young woman has been suffering from nose, mouth and ear bleeding since April 2019. The episodes are preceded by chest pains or headaches, according to her mother. Maria Ocilene also stresses that there is no logic to the incidents, as the family has noted gaps of up to three months between one case and another.

According to the teenager’s mother, the family has been mobilized since the first bleeding, but no diagnosis was made even after several visits to other health centers.
