Snow-capped highlands and mountain peaks 1,000 meters above sea level blocked roads and trails in Akkar, Baalbek and Jounieh towns while rain caused property damage in Saida, Tyre, Nabatiyeh and Al-Danniyeh.

According to the news agency, the storm in southern Tire caused heavy casualties on citrus and banana plantations, and winds uprooted tents and crops.

In this regard, the excavators of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, as well as civil defense teams, are working to open the main and most important roads between cities, facilitating traffic and ensuring pedestrian safety.

At the same time, the traffic control center urged citizens to exercise caution when driving for fear of slipping and accidents due to deteriorating weather conditions.

In a statement, Beirut Governor Marwan Abboud warned against driving near the capital’s coastal ledge due to high sea waves resulting from the storm to ensure the safety of residents.
