Ten days before Halloween, the Christmas magic is already spreading at Place Laurier – Le Journal de Québec

Halloween isn’t over yet, as Quebec City’s Place Laurier shopping center has put up a giant Christmas tree to the surprise of many.

10 days before Halloween, decorations with skeletons and ghosts can still be seen in front of houses and in certain shopping centers; However, this does not apply to Place Laurier, where the pumpkins have already been exchanged for an impressive illuminated tree.

The Christmas magic spreads to stores as decorations and red and green clothing make their way into stores.

There were very few options for Halloween costumes at Walmart, unlike the various tree models that were available in large numbers.

However, in the Galeries de la Capitale, black and orange dominated, always far from the decorations of reindeer and elves.

Too early?

With malls packed due to the rainy weather outside, Le Journal took the opportunity to get some opinions on this early installation as Christmas is just over two months away.

“I think it’s a little early. In my head, I don’t expect Christmas decorations until early December and especially when Halloween isn’t even over yet,” explains Gabrielle Gaumont.

“Personally, I could have maybe waited another week or two, but at the same time it feels good. I don’t know many people who get angry when they see Christmas decorations, on the contrary, it puts everyone in a good mood,” adds her sister.

“I took the plunge. I don’t want to hide from you that I didn’t expect to see a Christmas tree when I went shopping in mid-October, but if it can do good for people, why not? pointed at a father, laughing.
