Tennis: Andre Agassi demolished all his trophies

Former tennis player Andre Agassi and actress Brooke Shields’ relationship in the 1990s was marked by explosive, even violent moments, the 57-year-old recently hinted during her campaign for a new documentary about him.

Married for about two years to the former world No. 1 on the ATP circuit, the man notably revealed that Agassi was literally unhinged after a 1996 episode of the TV series Friends, which Shields starred in Character Erika Ford. In one episode, she literally licked the fingers of Joey Tribianni (played by Matt LeBlanc), and the whole thing didn’t do much for the “tennis man.”

“Andre was in the crowd watching the filming and he lost his temper. He said everyone laughed at him and I made fun of him with that behavior,” she told the New Yorker, adding that her then-husband then smashed all of his trophies.

“Who else will prevail?” The actress commented on her former partner’s outbursts of anger.

drug use

However, this reaction may be related to Agassi’s use of methamphetamine (“crystal meth”); in his 2009 biography Open, he admitted to using the drug on court during his career.

“I said to him, ‘This is comedy! What’s your problem?’ I later found out he was addicted to crystal meth at the time, so those irrational actions certainly had something to do with it,” said Shields, who admitted to being irritated by her ex-husband’s mood swings.

“I was emotionally overwhelmed by the series because all of my attention was suddenly focused on him.”

In addition, the FOX News network tried to contact the ex-tennis player, but did not respond to the request for an interview. The documentary Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields airs April 3 on Hulu.
