For a second year, some of the best junior tennis rackets in Quebec, but also from around the world, will be in action in Quebec City from April 29th to compete in the ITF J100 Sports Experts tournament at Club Avantage Multi-Sports.
Leylatou Aliassime, the cousin of Félix Auger-Aliassime and niece of Sam, whose tennis academy is organizing the event, received a pass for the 2021 girls big.
The young player will be surrounded by a strong Canadian delegation. Among the women, the four favorites are maple leaf representatives, including Sarah L’Allier from Quebec. The other three are Scarlett Nicholson, Eliana Kook and Nadia Lagaev.
Two of the top four seeders for the boys are also Canadians. They are Montrealers Junghee You and Stefan Simeunovic.
Several athletes from Quebec
Several Quebec athletes will also compete in the qualifiers, including Phillippe-Elliott Bigonesse, Stéphania Gilbert, Joliane Côté, Laurence Demers, Annika Lavoie and Justine Tardif.
The singles main draw has 32 players in each category and the doubles main draw has 16 men’s teams and 16 women’s teams.
