Tennis: Nick Kyrgios was injured in a robbery at his expense and will not feature at Roland-Garros

It wasn’t his knee pain, which he felt in Australia earlier in the year, that stopped Australian Nick Kyrgios from attending Roland-Garros, but an injury he sustained in an armed robbery at the home of tennis’ bad boy had moved. Portal announced its agent on Thursday.

The 26th world number one, a finalist at Wimbledon last year, suffered a laceration to his left foot when a man stole his Tesla from his residence in Canberra, Australia.

Her mother threatened

Kyrgios doesn’t remember exactly how he got injured, his agent Daniel Horsfall said. According to police, the Australian player’s mother was threatened with a gun during the May 1 robbery.

The Tesla has now been located and a man arrested. But that injury delayed the flamboyant player’s preparation and forced him to forego the Paris Ocher.

Kyrgios is expected to be back on the pitch in Stuttgart on June 12th. His knee injury, which required surgery and prevented him from competing at the Australian Open, has fully recovered.
