Meghan and Kate’s relationship was doomed from the start as there was early resentment that the then-Duchess of Cambridge’s wardrobe took precedence over that of the Duchess of Sussex, it was reported today.
During her career as an American actress, Meghan Markle fell in love with British designer Erdem Moralıoğlu’s clothes after wearing his dresses to several engagements before entering royal life from 2016.
But when she publicly engaged with Prince Harry, the Princess of Wales is said to have been given priority over Meghan as she was also an existing customer.
The new details of the couple’s relationship, published in The Telegraph – the same newspaper that published an exclusive interview with Prince Harry just last night – comes after Prince Harry published his highly controversial memoir, Spare, last Tuesday.
As recently as 2019, Meghan Markle sported an Erdem look at an official engagement when she wore this custom green coat dress

Meghan wore Erdem’s ‘Davina’ dress from his 2015 collection in early 2016 – before it was available to the general public – for an appearance on NBC’s Today programme, before she even met the Duke of Sussex.
She was also spotted wearing Erdem dresses during a wedding in Jamaica in March 2017 and around the time of the 2017 Invictus Games in Toronto, wearing his “Sebla” dress.
But as a royal, Meghan didn’t wear her favorite designer in public until March 2019, reports The Telegraph.
The fact that the looks of the Canadian-born British designer Kate were presented first is said to have gone down badly with the Sussexes, Meghan is said to have said Kate is “not even queen”.
The dress saga comes after a previous alleged row between the couple over bridesmaid dresses for Harry and Meghan’s wedding and an allegedly awkward first meeting with the Cambridges.

Prince Harry claimed in Spare that one of the couple’s assistants was asked to resign amid allegations that they were “trading” their position to receive free gifts
Both Kate and Meghan reportedly left the meeting in tears after it was discovered that neither dress fit properly.
In another series, it emerged in Prince Harry’s book Spare that Meghan kept freebies she received as a member of the royal family and allegedly shared them with her staff at Kensington Palace.
Standard practice within the royal family is to return unsolicited gifts sent to the palace free of charge.
However, in his book, Harry admits that Meghan has accepted gifts but also given them to her employees.
The prince wrote: Harry says: “She shared all the freebies she received, clothes and perfumes and makeup, with all the women in the office.”
But this is also said to have caused problems, as Prince Harry claims an assistant was “requested to resign by Palace HR after we gave them evidence that she had swapped positions with Meg to receive freebies”.
His claims are disputed, as members of the royal family are not allowed to accept gifts unless for an important occasion, such as a wedding, or “official” gifts from royal engagements.
There is also said to have been confusion over Meghan being gifted or “loaned” clothing and jewelry.
In one such incident, Meghan wore a pair of diamond earrings that Saudi Prince Mohammed Bin Salman allegedly presented to her as a wedding gift to a state banquet in 2018.
The palace claimed at the time that the Duchess’s earrings were loaned by Chopard, but it was later discovered that they were in fact a wedding gift.
Meghan’s lawyers, Schillings, initially said: “At no point did the Duchess tell staff that the earrings were ‘on loan from a jeweler’ as this would have been incorrect and therefore any suggestion that she encouraged them to lie to the media is unfounded is. ‘
Two days later, Schillings added it was “possible” that Meghan said the earrings were loaned, as she was referring to the fact that gifts to the royal family are automatically the property of the monarch.
Much attention was drawn to the fact that the earrings were worn just days after the Saudi regime admitted to killing journalist Jamal Khasoggi.
Lawyers for Harry and Meghan at the time denied the Duchess ever said the earrings were on loan.
Things started off badly between the two couples after Meghan Markle first met Kate in ripped jeans and no shoes.
She had previously hugged Prince William when he met him, who was said to have “completely freaked out”. [William] out’, so spare.
Prince Harry gave an exclusive interview to The Telegraph, which was published last night.
He has also called on the royal family to apologize to Meghan Markle after he made a series of explosive claims in his new book and claimed his family treated him like he was “delusional and paranoid”.
The prince said: “You know what you did and I now know why you did it. And you got caught, so just come in.’
It’s not clear what Harry wants his family to apologize to his wife for, but he claimed he fought the “good fight” by siding with Meghan.
He claimed “if people had listened to his concerns earlier,” the gulf between him and Meghan and the rest of the royals wouldn’t have gotten so wide.
The Duke of Sussex added he couldn’t understand why he found it “shocking and outrageous” to be telling what he believed to be the “true” side of the story.
Representatives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been contacted for comment.
