  • Half a mile away, another toddler was mauled by the coyote near a playground

This is the agonizing moment when an Arizona toddler is mauled by a coyote while his mother stands nearby – before escaping and attacking another child at a nearby playground.

Authorities are still hunting for the animal after it terrorized the town of Scottsdale, north of Phoenix on Wednesday.

Kelly Pirozzi, the toddler’s mother, told ABC News that she was standing in the driveway of her stunning $2.1 million four bed, five bath home when the animal attacked her 21-month-old son and bit his arm before she was able to free him.

“It happened so quickly,” the surgeon said, revealing that luckily the boy only sustained minor bite wounds in the horrific ambush.

Pirozzi, a foot surgery specialist in the area, was able to capture the attack on her home security camera.

While she turned her back to unload her car, the mother’s 21-month-old son slowly made his way to her $2.1 million Scottsdale home.

But a coyote chased him out of the bushes and can be seen moving steadily towards the child as he steps into the shadows.

After pouncing on him and clutching his arm, Pirozzi said the animal finally freed him from his grasp after he cried out in fear.

Video later showed the coyote eerily searching the area as it returned to the crime scene.

But after the attack, another toddler was attacked by a coyote at a playground near an elementary school just half a mile away.

Officials believe the same coyote was behind both attacks, with the second victim suffering multiple “claw marks on his stomach,” according to Darren Julian and urban wildlife specialist at Arizona Game and Fish.

With the strikes happening in quick succession, Julian warned parents in the area to be “extra vigilant” while the threat is still at large.

The Arizona Wildlife and Fish Administration said in a statement that this “coyote shows little fear of humans and may have had a history of illegal feeding.”

The corpse added that she was patrolling the area with the help of Scottsdale Police.

Though officers have not yet been able to locate the wild dog, the wildlife specialist insisted coyote attacks were rare, with the recent incidents being the first in the Phoenix area since 2017.

Officials also warn that feeding coyotes can cause them to lose their fear of humans and increase their risk of attack.

People living in areas where the wild dogs roam have also been told to keep pets indoors, as the creatures are known to prey on smaller dogs, cats, or other small mammals.
