A homeless Oregon woman has been arrested and charged for pushing a three-year-old girl onto a train track in a shocking moment captured on video while the city’s homelessness crisis raged on.

Brianna Lace Workman, 32, reportedly pushed the little girl onto the MAX platform at Gateway Transit Center in Portland on Thursday.

The little girl, wearing a pink coat, was waiting in line with her mother when surveillance footage caught someone wearing a red hat, allegedly Workman, pinning her face first onto the metal rail.

Luckily, she was dragged back onto the platform by onlookers. She said she had a bad headache and the local district attorney said she had a red spot on her forehead.

According to court records, Workman is both homeless and a resident of Portland.

Prosecutors said the child did nothing to provoke the attack and the woman just came out of nowhere and pushed her.

Workman was charged Thursday with attempted first and third degree assault, disrupting public transit, disorderly conduct and reckless endangerment.

The Prosecutor’s Office has recommended that she remain in detention.

Her attorney said in a statement: “At Ms. Workman’s request, I am not seeking her release at this time, but I deny the state’s request for preventive detention.”

Homelessness is rampant in Portland — the mayor has made plans to build pickleball courts, a skate ramp and a bike trail in a place known for homeless camping.

Democrat Ted Wheeler has been blamed for the rise in crime, with Portland setting a record for homicides in 2021.

The Liberals have been in power for four decades, but locals say they see the shift in crime, drug use and homelessness leaving the city in tatters.

It almost resulted in reliably blue Oregon electing a Republican governor, with Democrat Tina Kozek winning by just four points over Republican Christine Drazen.

Homelessness and crime in Portland have exploded in the past two years since the civil unrest caused by the murders of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor.

The streets are now crowded with tent cities littered with rubbish – and the problem is putting off locals and tourists alike.

Less than three years later, that number has increased by 50 percent and now stands at over 3,000 people living on the streets.
