Terror in Jerusalem: Two Israeli officers injured in knife attack – The Jerusalem Post

Two border police officers were seriously injured in a knife attack at Herod’s Gate in Jerusalem’s Old City on Monday morning, Israeli police confirmed.

One officer suffered life-threatening injuries and another suffered minor injuries. The attack reportedly occurred near an Israeli police station in the Israeli capital.

The terrorist, a 16-year-old from East Jerusalem’s Issawiya neighborhood, was killed by officers who arrived at the scene of the attack. In addition, one person was arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting the attacker.

Magen David Adom medics treated the two wounded officers, both in their 20s, before taking them to Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem for further treatment.

Borde police officers began collecting evidence at the scene and scanning the area to rule out the possibility of other accomplices in the attack. Police Chief Kobi Shabtai was on his way to the crime scene on Monday morning.

“When I arrived at the scene, passersby said that there was a terrorist who had been neutralized,” United Hatzalah volunteer Elad Revanseri was quoted as saying. Advertising

“We initially treated a woman in her 20s who was seriously injured and a young man who sustained minor injuries. They were then transported to the hospital for further treatment.”

This is a developing story.
