Hollywood actor and former NFL star Terry Crews was hailed by fans for his “brilliant” grid walk interview with Martin Brundle, even flexing his pecs for viewers on live TV.

Brundle’s pre-race grid walk has become a staple for Formula 1 fans around the world and it was no different this weekend in Hungary, where the Sky Sports analyst looked for famous faces ahead of the action.

Walking down the grid, he stumbled upon Crews, who was at the Hungaroring as a guest of Red Bull Racing – in his first ever Formula 1 race.

Oftentimes, celebrities are criticized for not being willing to be interviewed by Brundle, but with Crews that couldn’t have been further from the truth as he seemed incredibly excited to be on the starting line-up.

“Oh hey, how are you?” The crews began when Brundle introduced himself, before the actor exclaimed, “I’m filming at full blast right now,” while flexing his pecs for the camera.

“Now you literally have a spaceship here on this stretch. “Oh my god, I’m looking to the future.”

Fans quickly took to social media to praise the respectful crews. One wrote: “Dear celebrities, this is how you treat Martin Brundle,” while another added: “Brilliant!”

Elsewhere, another F1 fan remarked: “Terry Crews is a hugely refreshing change from the way most American celebs greet Martin on the grid.”

Earlier this month, Cara Delevigne caused controversy at the British Grand Prix when she rebuffed Brundle’s attempts to interview her.

The presenter approached the supermodel with a Sky Sports F1 mic but was quickly told by an apparent security guard that “she doesn’t want to talk”.

Undeterred, the ex-racer-turned-broadcaster-turned-broadcaster was obviously interested in chatting with him anyway, saying: “Now that’s the thing, everyone’s talking on the grid,” to which Cara replied, “I can’t hear anything, sorry,” as the Red Arrows roared overhead.

The supermodel, who wore a chic black pantsuit with a matching bra underneath and a black baseball cap, said curtly “no” and shook her head before repeating “no” again.

Martin was visibly frustrated and told her, “The deal is everyone on the grid has to speak…”

Undeterred, Martin responded with more than a touch of sarcasm, telling viewers, “Okay, I’m sure it would have been extremely interesting,” to which the model gave the camera a thumbs-up.

The contrast between Crews and Delevigne did not go unnoticed by F1 fans, as someone wrote on Twitter: “Terry Crews, a much more pleasant individual than Cara Delevigne, it has to be said.”
