Angel Mercado-Ocasio, a 19-year-old baseball player, died after a shelter collapsed on his head in Pennsylvania.
The tragic incident happened Monday when the Central Penn College player was helping out a youth baseball league in a Harrisburg city park.

According to a city spokesman, Mercado-Ocasio was dismantling a temporary shelter that had been illegally built on the site. Part of the structure collapsed, landing on the young man.
Mercado-Ocasio suffered serious injuries and was taken to a regional hospital, where he later died.
Teammates and friends of 19-year-old Angel Mercado-Ocasio say they are devastated by his death.

“Our family at Central Penn College is devastated by the loss of Angel,” College President Linda Fedrizzi-Williams said in a statement. As friends turned family, we mourn the loss of one of us, a promising young athlete who needlessly lost his life helping others enjoy the sport he loved so much.”
The lady also stated that Mercado-Ocasio’s teammates had the opportunity to say goodbye to him in the hospital.
