The 2022 Block Auctions: Real Estate Experts Reveal the Team Most Likely to Win

The Block’s grand finale is just days away.

And as competition intensifies ahead of auction day, real estate experts have revealed who they think will make the biggest profit.

Domain’s Alice Stolz, Greville Pabst, Frank Valentic and Nicole Jacobs all agree that House 1’s Tom and Sarah-Jane will take the crown, but The Block host Shelley Craft has her money for House 2 from Rachel and Ryan.

Ms. Stolz, national editor-in-chief of Domain, said the appeal of all five properties stems from the “lure” of breaking away from “treadmill life” in the city.

She ranked House 5 as the dark horse and House 2 as a personal favorite for its functionality, but ultimately chose House 1 as the most likely winner.

“What I love about these homes is that they really celebrate what has been a tough time and they have created absolutely exceptional homes which I would imagine would be a dream come true for most Australian families,” said Ms Proud.

Mr. Pabst, an attorney for the buyer, echoed Ms. Stolz’s choice, saying that the floor plan, functionality, layout and quality of finishes and fittings in House 1 were superior to the other properties.

“House 1 has all the features and elements that should win it…it feels really good when you walk in,” he said.

The expert ranked House 3 as the second best house for its size, but warned the “eclectic” interior design could pose a major risk.

Mr. Valentic, also an attorney for the buyer, added, “Many of our buyers are looking for lifestyle amenities and amenities because the high cost of airfare means they won’t be traveling as much.”

He said House 1 “resonated with a lot of my buyers” because of its “high-end” feel.

Tom and Sarah-Jane’s position at the top of the Domain Superpower Leaderboard also makes them a chance for victory, Mr. Valentic said, as that has been an indicator of previous seasons.

The third buyer advocate, Ms Jacobs, touted the lifestyle of the Macedon Ranges as an incentive for owner-occupiers to buy The Block properties.

“Buyers don’t look at these just to get one; they’re really looking at them and how they’re going to work for them long-term as a family… it’s just about buying the right house,” she said.

With this in mind, Ms. Jacobs selected House 1 and House 2 as contenders for first place, naming their “layout” and “tones and their overall interpretation of the rooms.”

Craft, who is a longtime host of The Block alongside Scott Cam, used her seasoned expertise when making her predictions.

“The interiors can be altered and altered to suit your personality, what you can’t change is the look and the view,” she said.

The 46-year-old then went on to say that Rachel and Ryan’s House 2 is her personal favorite and she thinks the most likely to win.

The block finale will air on Sunday at 7pm on Channel Nine and 9Now
