The Acura ZDX returns in 2024 to be 100% electric

Acura announced its first 100% electric SUV as part of Monterey Car Week, to be marketed in 2024. For the occasion, the brand has decided to bring back the ZDX name.

Introduced alongside the Precision EV Concept, the ZDX will be the first production model to feature multiple themes from Acura’s new design. Developed in partnership with General Motors (GM), the ZDX will share the Ultium electric architecture.

“Our accelerated path to electrification begins today with the all-new ZDX. Acura will play a key role in our corporate strategy to achieve 100% carbon neutrality by 2050 […] said James Marchand, associate vice president of Acura Canada.

In addition, Acura will also launch a ZDX in Type S trim,” continues Mr. Marchand.

Starting in 2026, Acura will launch more vehicles based on the e:Architecture platform created by Honda.

Remember that the ZDX came out in 2010 with a bold design that was both practical and sporty. It was powered by a 300 hp V6 engine teamed with an all-wheel drive system. His story was short-lived as he retired after 2013.
