The ALBA Political Council will meet tomorrow in New York

The meeting takes place during the 77th session of the UN General Assembly and is attended by the foreign ministers of the member states.

Venezuela’s Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Relations announced days ago that foreign ministers will also agree on the alliance’s common position on various multilateral issues at the meeting.

As part of the preparations for the meeting, the Executive Secretary of the Integration Panel, Sacha Llorenti, held discussions with national authorities and other members of the group via video conference here.

Among other things, he spoke to Venezuelan Foreign Minister Carlos Faría with the aim of reviewing the work agenda to strengthen Latin American and Caribbean integration.

He also spoke with the Deputy Minister for Latin America at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rander Peña, to coordinate the work strategy in the areas of politics, economics, culture and sports for the next semester.

The Political Council of the multilateral organization of Latin America and the Caribbean consists of the foreign ministers of the individual member countries and advises the Presidential Council, among others.

At their last meeting in March 2021, the participants denounced the warmongering and dominance policies of Western countries, particularly the United States, which continue to bend sovereign countries, even amid the deep world crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic .

ALBA-TCP consists of Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Saint Lucia.
