A TV source told Web: “Shazia was really upset with the way she was being treated and at times didn’t feel safe living in the apprentice house.

“She can’t believe she would face racial bullying today.

“Contestants were shocked that Mark was able to continue filming the show, despite hostility building behind the scenes.

“The show casts contestants from different ethnicities and backgrounds and everyone is expected to respect each other, which was not the case during filming of the current series.”

The insider added, “The incident took place on camera and the contestants in question were wearing microphones, so it’s not about what he said,” she said.

A spokesman for The Apprentice told Web: “The Apprentice has zero tolerance for racial bullying.

“The duty of care and well-being of all candidates is of paramount importance and where action is necessary we will take it.

“All candidates sign a strict code of conduct and if there is evidence of racial bullying, candidates are immediately disqualified from the process. We take all complaints very seriously.”

Web understands Mark, who is still a candidate for Lord Sugar’s £250,000 investment, may not feature in spinoff show You’re Fired or filming the latest Apprentice episode.

He may also not be invited to the taping of You’re Hired, a show hosted by comedian Tom Allen where the winning contender is celebrated and the rest of the cast reflect on the ups and downs of the series.

A source added: “Invitations to the final episode of The Apprentice are based on contestant availability and production discretion. The same goes for You’re Fired and You’re Hired, and the preparations are made just before the shoot.’

Shazia spoke about the bullying she faced while filming The Apprentice in a now-deleted TikTok video.

The contestant pointed to the third episode of the series, which challenged teams to create a cartoon suitable for 2- to 4-year-olds.

Shazia, who worked on Team Affinity alongside co-star Mark, pitched the idea of naming her children’s character Yogita, explaining to her colleagues, “I was thinking about creating an ethnic female character, like maybe Indian… Yogita the giraffe.”

After some criticism from her peers, she added: “I felt it was very important to have a name that was representative of the entire population out there. It’s actually not that difficult to pronounce.’

Speaking on TikTok, she said: “Does anyone else think it’s really ironic that the team wanted to do an assignment about diversity and inclusivity but none of them understood what diversity and inclusivity is?

“It means that when you have different opinions, you value those differences and work with those differences and don’t reject them.

“But note my team didn’t do that, they were incredibly offended by the name Yogita, much more so than what was shown on the show yesterday.”

She continued, “I was really attacked because of the name Yogita, which I can confirm happened really hard off camera, but the footage they shot didn’t make it into editing because I think that viewers found it really disturbing.

“Ultimately we’re just trying to make a little cartoon character about an Indian giraffe.”

Shazia confirmed in the video that she officially reported the bullying after the task ended.

She said, “In all seriousness, I felt unsafe in the house living with this hostility directed at me.”

The London-based business owner explains on her Instagram that she “is committed to a diverse representation of different women in business.”

She added, “Watch me at this year’s Apprentice where I will be spotlighting diversity, inclusion and neurodiversity.”
