The first film in the “Avatar” series was released in 2009 and revolutionized the film industry with its highdefinition special effects. The action takes place in the world of Pandora, where beings known as Na’vi live.
They are highly evolved even though they appear primitive. Because of the toxic environment of the planet, what are known as avatars were created, a type of biological body controlled by the human mind.
Former Marine Jake Sully was paralyzed. With the help of the project, he was able to walk through Pandora again and eventually fell in love with her Neytiri. The relationship prompts Jake to fight to survive in the alien world.
With a budget of $237 million, the film was a box office success, grossing $2.923 billion worldwide. It was directed by James Cameron and stars Zoë Saldaña, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver and Michelle Rodriguez, among others.

Brazilian artist Hidreley Diao used artificial intelligence and his editing skills to humanize Neytiri and show what she would look like if she were human. In this case, Diao wasn’t about showing her inspiration from the actress’ looks, but rather showing what she would look like while retaining her otherworldly physical traits.
