Will Lana Del Rey keep her admirers waiting because of her hairdo during her show at the Festival d’été de Quebec on July 15? We’re entitled to ask that question after suffering an ultra-mediatized delay for hair reasons at Glastonbury Festival recently. In the meantime, here are six artists who have been playing with their Quebec fans’ patience over the past few years.

Madonna

The Madonna will have many admirers to come throughout her long career! This was the case in Quebec, particularly during her performances at the Plains of Abraham in September 2012 and at the Videotron Center in September 2015, where she did not take the stage until 10 p.m. However, we can console ourselves: In March 2016, the singer arrived in Australia more than 2:30 hours late.

We cannot forget the riot of August 8, 1992 at the Olympic Stadium: Metallica singer James Hetfield had to interrupt his performance after suffering an accident (he suffered burns on his face and arm). Guns N’ Roses then made viewers wait two hours to play for 55 minutes and asked people to get their money back. (We also remember the singer’s middle finger). Result: thirty injured and ten arrested. Even though Axl Rose’s gang seems to have calmed down, it’s still common for her to show up late. This was the case in January 2010 at the Bell Center and in November 2010 when the group let their fans roam the Colisée de Québec until…11:50pm!
Travis Scott

Several disgruntled viewers chose to exit the grounds of the Osheaga Festival in August 2018 rather than wait for Friday’s headliner: rapper Travis Scott. Stuck at customs, he arrived more than an hour and a half late, which angered crowds, especially on social media.
Lady Gaga

In November 2019, Lady Gaga came to the Bell Center in Montreal for the start of her major North American tour. However, the diva appeared on stage an hour late. But despite the long wait and the technical difficulties of the evening, the talented singer’s powerful voice seems to have managed to calm this irritating moment.
Lauryn Hill

Known for being late for most of her concerts, Lauryn Hill kept her Quebec fans waiting two and a half hours during her July 2016 performance at the Place des Arts as part of the Montreal Jazz Festival. Event organizers claimed at the time that the diva was at her hotel 20 minutes before her performance…

It’s safe to say that Lil Wayne got on the nerves of Metro Metro audiences last May. Due to technical problems, the festival started three hours late. Then the rapper – who was the headliner for the day – took the stage to sing for just 15 minutes. At 11:01 p.m., his microphone was turned off.
